The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) graduation was held on campus within the school’s Palace Hall. In adherence to the Covid Guidelines, the students were double spaced within the hall and the ceremony LIVE Streamed for parents and friends to watch from their homes. In attendance were Principal Kate Moskwa, Head of High School Emma Rooney, and Assistant Head of School & IGCSE Examination Officer Sameera Abu Rumman
It is the 14th year (2008), that Abdulrahman International School (ARKIS) has hosted this graduation and the 2021 cohort consisted of 132 students. The exams were held in June 2021 with four students receiving a High Distinction, which translates to A or A* grades across all seven subjects. Congratulations are in order for ALI FUAD ALI MOHAMED SALEH ALNAHASH, MOHAMED OSAMA A. KARIM MAHMOOD AWADH MAJED, MAHMOOD HAMAD MAHMOOD SH. A. LATIF ALMAHMOOD, and ISA HUSAIN ISA ABDULLA ISA ABDULRAZAQ on such exceptional scores.
The exams were a school-assessed grade with an external peer review being sent to Cambridge for moderation. At the time of graduation, the Cambridge IGCSE results have not been published in relation to how ARKIS sits within the Kingdom and also at an International Level. We are thrilled that 80% of students received a C- A* grade in each of their subjects and 30% of these students received an A*-A grade in each subject.
