The AKA scholarship is now in its 12th year. This scholarship offers one student the opportunity to study at University, in Bahrain or abroad, with tuition fees covered for 4 years.
All applicants must first submit a short 3-5 minute video where the student introduces themselves, and focuses on answering the following two questions: What impact would you like to have in the future, and In what ways can you contribute to the school after graduation? They then must submit a CV which can be presented in a number of different ways and finally an essay drawing from their time at ARKIS, especially CAS experiences and IB learner attributes.
On March 14th the school had the pleasure of hosting Ms. Luluwa Ghassan Almehanna: Director of the Directorate of Licensing and Follow-up of Private Schools at the MOE and Dr. Wafa Almansoori who acts as AUBH’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO). She also serves as the Director of Institutional Research and Assessment at AUBH. and is a member of the ARKIS Academic Board. They were joined by Principal Moskwa and Head of High School, Ms. Emma Rooney, to interview the 8 applicants for the only scholarship offered by a Private school in Bahrain.
It was a fruitful process highlighting the many achievements and capabilities of each applicant. Both Ms. Luluwa and Dr. Wafa were impressed with the calibre of all the applicants.
The panel successfully managed to shortlist the 8 candidates down to 3. These 3 students will now be interviewed by the Board of Trustees in May. We wish them good luck!
