World Math’s Day is an international celebration of mathematics coordinated by 3P Learning (the makers of Mathletics). Millions of students across the world compete in Live “Mathletics” challenges to determine a global winner, while also participating in fun activities that highlight the wonder of numbers. The inaugural event took place in 2007, now World Math’s Day see’s participation from 150 counties around the world with over 500 million math’s questions answered. This year’s programme was online and saw students from schools in Grades 4 and 5 complete 20 questions- of which were 60 second LIVE Math’s games, jostling for a spot on the global leaderboard.
The world’s largest online mathematics competition saw Abdulrahman Kanoo International School (ARKIS) take first place in the Yr.5 Bahrain division– beating Beacon School, American School, Children’s Academy and Al Raja School. And our Yr. 4 competitors placing second in the Bahrain division. Speaking on the results of the World Maths Day programme, Principal Moskwa noted, ” a huge congratulations to all those students that registered and led ARKIS to an incredible victory. Outstanding efforts by all students but especially Ali Ramadhan (4R) whom garnered a score of 658 placing him in the 300th spot in the world grade rank and 1st in the country. Meanwhile, Ghassan Salman (5) scored 569 placing him 1170th in the world and 2nd in the country. “
