Abdulrahman Kanoo International School (ARKIS) once again celebrated the graduation class of 2021 (#ARKISGrad2021) during their conferring, via an MOE approved ( 758 – ت ت – )2021) virtual ceremony. In light of the traditional ceremonies pre-Covid, this year 133 student graduants accepted their certifications at the BIC on Sunday the 29th of August, 2021- the 12th cohort to graduate from ARKIS.
Under the patronage of the School Chairman, Mr. Saud Abdulaziz Kanoo, the ceremony was “Live Streamed” on the schools YouTube channel, allowing graduates, family and friends, who could not be physically present, to participate in “real time”. Under the lead of Master of Ceremony, Ms. Noor Toorani, the programme involved speeches from the patron, the Princiapl, AKA Scholarship winner and Qu’ran reader: Mr. Redha Aqeel and Valedictorian; Miss. Alaa Ahmed and “The Arab Women Medical Excellence Award” winner and ARKIS parent of a graduant Dr Jamila Al Salman.
A personalised graduation slideshow compiled by the graduate Shahad Aljawad, showcased the graduants time at ARKIS. In the pre-recorded speeches, the School Chairman reflected on the late Founder’s vision and how we as a Team- staff, students, and the Board, continue to strive for the improvement of performance. This has been achieved with the clear and transparent development of a strategic plan- with clear goals and deliverables, updates to curriculum and strategic partnerships locally, regionally, and internationally.
“One of the schools most important traditions, our graduation, is being conducted here at BIC this evening. Whilst once again we have shaped the celebration around our current restrictions and safety policies, I would like to express my sincere pride in the resilience of the graduating class and all staff, during these unique circumstances. Whilst we are all disappointed on losing their last moments on campus with friends and the staff of ARKIS, they now make up a group from 12 graduating classes, once again fulfilling the mission of our late Founder, Mr. Abdulrahman Jasim Kanoo. It has been an honour to help shape the school, preparing our students to be resilient critical thinkers who are guided by their strong morals and ethical compasses- something that would make our Founder immensely proud, as you graduate here today” noted ARKIS Principal Moskwa.
