Every year on December 1st, the Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates Bahraini Women’s Day at the initiative of Her Royal Highness Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) to honor the achievements and valuable insights and contributions made by Bahraini women towards the development and progress of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“This year the Council announced the theme “Read – Learned – Participated” which stems from the early beginnings of Bahraini women’s involvement in the development process and their continuous aspiring contributions”.
On the occasion of this special day, Abdulrahman Kanoo International School marked this special day with a celebration of its female employees and they were honored for their exceptional and well-recognized efforts, as well as their outstanding and educational achievements.
The Celebration included an opening of the Bahraini Woman Art Exhibition. Artworks were made by the Elementary School and Secondary School students to celebrate Bahraini women’s contribution to the development of their nation. This Exhibition is an opportunity to show students’ talent beyond the classroom, they become confident about their abilities and potential. Also, they are encouraged to create high-quality artwork.
