Abdulrahman Kanoo International School (ARKIS) celebrated its 13th graduation last night at the Al Areen Resort and Spa. The Class of 2022 (#ARKISGrad2021) consisted of a cohort of 132 students in a ceremony which saw them accept their certificates and medals in front of family and friends. This ceremony takes the total to 1643 graduating students, another incredible milestone for the Board and a proud moment as we realise the impact of the Schools Founders dreams for ARKIS.
Under the patronage of the School Chairman, Mr. Saud Abdulaziz Kanoo, the ceremony was also “Live Streamed” on the schools YouTube channel, allowing graduates, family and friends, who could not be physically present, to participate in “real time”. Under the lead of Master of Ceremony, Mrs. Mervat Murad- Vice Principal of Relations, the programme involved speeches in Arabic and English from the patron, the Principal, Head of High School and ARKIS two valedictorians Alhanoof Khaled Ali Jaber AlNaser and Mariam Mohamed Jawad Abdulaziz Husain Madan, with the Quran read by Mohammed Shuaib Abdulmuneim Morsy AlGhubashi.
Al Bashayer Events once again supported the graduation under the theme of empowerment and uniqueness with special pop up areas and small touches to make both a special and interactive evening. This was the first graduation outside of the restrictions governed by the pandemic and management and leadership ensured that the MOE requirements and recommendations were adhered to. A personal and thought provoking speech by the Head of High School Mrs. Emma Rooney talked about “The way to discover the answer to the question, “What’s my destiny?” is to stay true to what makes you unique, always. You will never change the world by seeking to be like everyone else, so cherish and celebrate each and every way in which you are You. Don’t try to adapt to the energy in the room; influence the energy in the room. Be brave enough to be different. You are too important to be anything less. Congratulations, Class of 22 #teamarkis”.
In the pre-recorded speeches, the School Chairman reflected both the theme and that of the late Founder’s- Abdulrahman Jasim Kanoo, vision. He expressed how the Board has invested funds this year to ensure that new technology and infrastructure were made available to meet all the students’ academic milestones, giving a competitive edge at a local, regional and international level. This is therefore reflective in the incredible academic results, once again achieved by our graduants. Mr. Saud Kanoo noted, “next time you think your dreams are too big, remember the potential that lies within us all- never doubt your ability. ARKIS and that of our late Founder has given you a strong foundation. On behalf of the Board of Trustees and in my position as Chairman, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours and we wish you all the success”.
