By definition, a student council, “ is a group of student leaders who work with an adult advisor to collaborate with others to impact their school community. The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organising and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school-wide community.” The ARKIS student council was set up in 2013 with membership and involvement providing the student with skills such as confidence, humility, resilience, time management structure, authenticity and goal-orientated citizens who promote a strong sense of civic engagement.

School leaders who lead by example to other students
And at an individual level, it is as per the organisational structure. The duration of their membership into the ARKIS student council is for two years. Elections of the student council take place in the mid of October by casting ballots from each Yr 5 through to Yr 12). The SC meets every month with the support of a dedicated staff member and works within the bounds of their purpose and membership.
