Curriculum

ARKIS Preschool offers a bilingual curriculum that allows students to develop at their own pace.

Early childhood is an essential stage in one’s life. Therefore, ARKIS provides an environment ready for exploration, discovery, and growth for our children. Our play-based activities enhance social, emotional, cognitive, and psychomotor development. Through the implementation of the IEYC curriculum, our young learners begin their journey where they learn, achieve, and grow.

As each child is unique and precious, the school promotes and respects cultural similarities and differences.

Early Years Foundation Stage / Cambridge Primary Curriculum

ARKIS Preschool follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which helps to enable the preschoolers to develop in different areas of learning. Moreover, this framework is conducted in a conducive environment where students are kept healthy and safe. EYFS promotes teaching and learning to ensure students ‘school readiness and gives them the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.

KG2 students are introduced to Cambridge Primary Curriculum which covers English, Math, and Science. This curriculum promotes an inquiry-based approach to learning to develop learners’ confidence, creativity, and intellectual engagement. The framework covers knowledge, skills, and understanding. All the skills are taught through fun hands-on activities that are meaningful to our students and related to real life.

  • SOCIAL STUDIES

The Curriculum for Social Studies aims to equip students with skills valuable to their personal, social, and emotional development. It includes certain aspects such as problem solving, responsibility, decision making, and making healthy choices at an early age which will equip your child for the future when they face bigger challenges.

  • ARABIC

ARKIS Preschool follows the MOE’s national curriculum for Arabic. This curriculum covers knowledge, skills, and understanding through the strands of Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. All these skills are taught through fun hands-on activities that are meaningful to our students and related to real life.

  • ISLAMIC STUDIES

Islamic studies provide preschool students with a general understanding of Islam and promotes the appreciation of Islamic ethics and values by listening to surahs, hadiths, supplications, and stories of the prophets.

  • ART,  MUSIC, AND DRAMA

Art, Music, and Drama are part of students’ daily life in preschool. Students are encouraged to express themselves, think creatively, and build their confidence. Through Art, Music, and Drama learners discover new ways to express themselves, communicate, and connect with other people and audiences. Students create unique pieces of artwork, sing songs, and role-play while learning and having fun. Towards the end of the school year, Nursery and KG1 students perform for their families during the Variety Show and KG2 students celebrate their achievements with a Graduation Ceremony.

  • PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PE)

Through physical education (PE) students learn to perform a variety of fundamental locomotor and nonlocomotor skills. They begin to understand specific moves involved in gymnastics, individual and team sports so that they can discover their passions and interests. By participating in PE students develop into physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally healthy individuals.

  • ARKISTECH (INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY)

The school has developed its own bespoke IT curriculum called ARKISTECH. It enables students to get familiar with the use of technology. Children use tablets and interactive whiteboards to play educational games that promote the curriculum in an enjoyable way. Through the use of technology in school students get equipped with the skills necessary to face the challenges of the 21st century.

  • LIBRARY

The preschool library is a place designed for students to further develop their love for reading. When they visit the library students have an opportunity to strengthen their reading skills by reading or listening to stories for pleasure in a well-designed space that promotes imagination and creativity.
