IB Economics and Business Teacher

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Commerce, or a related field
• B.Ed. or an equivalent teaching qualification
• IB training/certification in Economics and/or Business Management is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in an international school
• Experience teaching IB Economics and/or IB Business Management is preferred
• Experience with the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is highly desirable

Preferred Qualities

• Strong subject knowledge in Economics and Business Management
• Familiarity with IB curriculum, assessment practices, and internal assessment requirements
• Experience with inquiry-based and student-centred learning
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to student achievement and holistic development
• Potential for leadership opportunities for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in IB Economics and Business Management
• Plan and deliver lessons aligned with IB curriculum and assessment requirements
• Prepare lesson plans, assessments, and high-quality learning materials
• Develop students’ analytical, evaluative, research, and critical-thinking skills
• Guide students in completing relevant IB assessment components, including internal assessments
• Monitor and support student progress and achievement
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to departmental and school-wide activities
• Participate in professional development and contribute to the development of the school’s IB programme
